The Wind Server, a Danish jack-up offshore wind farm platform, arrived in Dun Laoghaire Harbour overnight on September 6th. The vessel towers over everything else in the harbour, marking a significant presence in the area and in a coastal town that looks set to benefit from an offshore wind farm plan of its own with the Dublin Array windfarm.
Berthed on Number 2 berth, Wind Server is a dedicated maintenance platform sailing under the flag of Denmark. It measures 79.3 metres in length and 32.3 metres in width.
The Wind server was built in 2014 by ZITON. It is noted as the first purpose-built operation and maintenance jack-up vessel for offshore wind. The platform can perform major component replacements on turbines up to 5 MW.

Equipped with a 400-tonne crane, the Wind Server can effectively work in water depths of up to 45 metres. Its current long-term charter with Siemens Wind Power aims to support vital operations and maintenance services across Europe.
