Irish Olympian Cathy MacAleavey is set to organise a Q&A session featuring World Sailing Award nominees. This event will take place ahead of the Awards presentation in Dun Laoghaire next month.

Finalists include renowned figures such as America’s Cup winners and world champions. Among them is Ireland's J24 World Champion crew, Headcase, led by skipper Cillian Dickson.

MacAleavey aims to inspire young sailors, inviting participants from their teens to their 30s. "Come meet the inspiring nominees for the World Sailing Awards! Hear their stories, share in their passion, and ask them your questions,” she said.

The Q&A will take place at the National Maritime Museum of Ireland, Haigh Terrace, Dun Laoghaire, on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, from 14:30 to 16:30. Bookings here

Dun Laoghaire Harbour will take centre stage next month as it hosts the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference.

As Afloat reported previously, more than 400 delegates from over 60 countries will gather from 2nd to 9th November at the Royal Marine Hotel and three waterfront yacht clubs — the National, Royal Irish, and Royal St. George.
