McCartin and Kinsella Take Ten Point Lead at Fireball National Championship 2024 in Cork Harbour

Barry McCartin and Conor Kinsella of the RStGYC lead a bumper 22-boat Irish Fireball National Championship and Youth Championship 2024 after seven races sailed in Cork Harbour at Crosshaven. 

McCartin and Kinsella scored 2,1,1,6 on the second day of racing on Saturday (August 17), in light to medium winds, to have a ten-point margin over Ewen Barry and Sandy Rimmington of Monkstown Bay Sailing Club. Third is the National Yacht Club's Noel Butler and Stephen Oram on eight points on 25.

The championship is one of three taking place this weekend at Royal Cork Yacht Club as part of the 'Tri Championships 2024', the other two being the Irish International 420 Class Association National Championships 2024 and the Irish 29er Class Association National Championship 2024.

Racing concludes on Sunday.
