The busy three-man National 18 dinghy class got the 304th 'At Home' Royal Cork Yacht Club Regatta weekend party started on Saturday with a one-day N18 event on the Curlane Bank in Cork Harbour.
After four races sailed and one discard allowed, Nick Walsh, sailing Peaky Blinders with Rob Brownlow and Ed Rice – who sailed to success in Scotland in August – were winners again, but this time on home waters and by a single point.
Alex Barry's Howlin' Mad was second on eight points, with Tom Crosbie taking third in Speed Wobble in a nine-boat fleet that saw Jamie Dwyer's Shuck 'em retire with gear damage.
Sailing took place in a trapezing south easterly and a strong flood tide. The Race Officers were Peter and Marie Crowley.
