With one race on Saturday (August 31st) and two on Sunday, and no discard, Royal Cork Yacht Club's 304th 'At Home' Regatta attracted a mixed fleet of over 30 cruiser-racers for handicap racing outside Cork Harbour.
As Afloat reported earlier, the National 18 Class raced on the Curlane Bank, with Nick Walsh's Peaky Blinders winning the one-day event.
Aramis is IHS-1 Class winner
Pat Vaughan's Contessa 33 Aramis was the IHS-1 Class winner on countback from Ian Hickey's Granada 38, Cavatina, both finished on seven points. In third place in the nine-boat fleet was Ronan Twomey's First 40.7 Rosmarina on eight.
IHS-2 Class Win for S&S 34 Morning After
The Jenkins Family S&S 34 Morning After won a nine-boat IHS-2 Class Non-Spinnaker on four points from Niall McPhillips' Custom Etchells Guapa on eight. In third was Rob Foster's Oceanis 311 Clodagh on 11.
Etchells 22 Don't Dilly Dally is Spinnaker 1 IRC Class winner
Four nett points secured the overall win for Michael McCann's Etchells 22 Don't Dilly Dally in the Spinnaker 1 IRC class, two points clear of RCYC Admiral Annamarie Fegan in the Grand Soleil 40 Nieulargo. Third was George Radley's Holland 39 Imp in a five-boat fleet.
X4 Alpaca Takes Spinnaker 1 ECHO Class
Paul and Deirdre Tingle's X4 Alpaca won the Spinnaker 1 Echo class on six points. Nieulargo was second with Imp third.
J24 Legal Alien is a Winner in Spinnaker 2 IRC and ECHO
Craig O'Neill's J24 Legal Alien won both IRC and ECHO in Spinnaker Class two with three wins from Jimmy Nyhan's Laser 28, Summer Light. Third was Tom McGrath and Ella Fay in the Charisma 22 Mini Mac. The result was repeated in ECHO.
